The food festival encourages attendees to reduce noise levels, has installed a “civic traffic light,” and rewards visitors with discounts when noise levels remain compatible with residents’ rest and comfort

The Champions Burger is launching the first-ever “Civic Traffic Light” at Mestalla this year, a pioneering initiative that rewards attendees for helping reduce the event’s noise impact and keeping sound levels compatible with residents’ rest and well-being.

The system monitors noise levels across the venue in real time and is being introduced at our stadium as an innovative pilot project aimed at raising awareness about neighborhood coexistence during large-scale events.

As long as noise remains within the established limits, the traffic light stays green, and visitors can enjoy a 20% discount on drinks and French fries. If ambient noise rises and approaches levels that could disturb local residents, the light turns red, and the promotion is temporarily suspended.

The device is built using more than 600 meters of low-energy LED lighting, in line with the festival’s sustainability commitment, and is installed throughout the stadium. This allows attendees to instantly see the current noise status at a glance through a simple visual code.

In addition, informational messages are displayed on the stadium’s video screens throughout the event, reminding visitors of the importance of maintaining respectful coexistence with local residents. And, as in any major competition, there are also referees—though in this case they are “noise referees.” This team moves around the venue informing attendees about the traffic light’s status and encouraging considerate behavior.

“We wanted to create a positive initiative that actively involves the public in caring for the surrounding environment. Rather than imposing restrictions, we chose to reward responsible behavior, because we are an event that cares about people—both those who attend and those who live nearby,” said José Morales, co-founder of The Champions Burger.
